This week, the San Diego Superior Court began mailing notices to people with past-due infraction citations, offering an additional 30-day grace period to resolve the outstanding court matter. Those who should expect to receive notices would have had appearance or fine due dates from March through mid-September 2020.

In observance of the Columbus Day statewide court holiday, the San Diego Superior Court will close all courtrooms and business offices on Monday, October 12, 2020.

The public is urged to visit the Court’s website at sdcourt.ca.gov to handle traffic tickets or obtain court information.

Beginning October 1, the Superior Court of California, County of San Diego will now provide additional e-filing service providers for members of the public and attorneys who wish to file Civil and Probate cases with the Court electronically. E-filing saves time by allowing parties to electronically file documents from personal computers, rather than bringing paperwork to the courthouse for processing.

This week, the San Diego Superior Court began mailing out summonses for jury duty for the first new jury trial since the COVID-19 pandemic caused jury trials to be put on hold in March.

The San Diego Superior Court announced the formation of a committee to assist in maintaining a courtroom environment that is free of bias or the appearance of bias. The California Standards of Judicial Administration, Standard 10.20, calls on courts to prohibit bias through the integrity and impartiality of individual judges and throughout the larger court system, including counsel, court personnel, witnesses, parties, jurors, or any other participants.
