The San Diego Superior Court has launched a new online reservation service application for motion hearing dates in Civil Independent Calendar departments.

Through the “Reserve a Motion Date” application, attorneys and self-represented litigants have 24/7 access to be able to reserve a civil motion hearing date in an assigned Civil Independent Calendar department. This new application is more convenient for the public and more efficient for court scheduling efforts. Once a motion date is reserved, users will receive a confirmation email containing a link that must be clicked within 30 minutes of the reservation. Upon receipt of e-filed motion documents, which are required to be received within three court days of the reservation, the hearing date will be formally set on the Court’s calendar.

The application is currently limited to Civil Independent Calendar departments only, and some motions may require a telephonic reservation. Reservations will continue to be available by contacting the Independent Calendar clerk.

The calendar application is accessible from the “Online Services” section on the homepage of the Court’s website (sdcourt.ca.gov ) and from sdcourt.ca.gov/Civil.

Many Court services can be accessed online. For more information, please visit sdcourt.ca.gov .
