Appeals - Criminal Misdemeanors

If you wish to file an appeal or petition for a writ in a misdemeanor matter that was heard in the Central, North, East, or South Division of the San Diego Superior Court, your appeal or petition will be reviewed by the Appeals Division.

There are numerous forms and strict filing deadlines.  A Notice of Appeal must be filed in the trial court within 30 days after the court rendered the judgment or made the order you are appealing. If the notice of appeal is filed after 30 days, the appeal cannot be considered.

For additional information on misdemeanor appeal procedures, please refer to the CR-131 INFO form.
