  1. Ex Parte. Ex parte appearances are scheduled Monday through Friday, normally beginning at 8:30 a.m., by reservation only. Papers are due by noon the day prior to the hearing with the appropriate fee, and with notice to the opposing party by 10 a.m. the previous court day. To reserve an ex parte hearing, contact Department 52's courtroom clerk at (619) 450-5052.

  2. Probate motions. As of January 10, 2014, probate motions will be heard by Judge Nevitt on Fridays at 1:30pm.

    All probate motion hearings are set by, and all motion pleadings (including opposition and reply papers) are to be filed in, the probate business office at the Madge Bradley Courthouse, 1409 Fourth Avenue, San Diego. A hearing date will be set only after the motion is filed. Do not include the department/judicial officer on the motion when submitted for filing. Reservations by telephone or e-mail will not be accepted.

    To have a motion hearing continued or taken off calendar after the hearing has been set in Department 52, please contact Department 52ís courtroom clerk at (619) 450-5052.

    For further information regarding probate matters, please call the probate business office at (619) 450-7676.

  3. Telephone Appearance. The California Rules of Court shall govern telephonic appearances.

  4. Trial. Court hours for trials are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. until noon, and 1:30 until 4:15 p.m. for jury trials and until 4:30 p.m. for bench trials, unless otherwise ordered.
